How hard is it to change out the Timing chain on a 99 Dakota 5.2L?

I like to do this sorta stuff on my own adn just get instrustions and go for it... so i was wondering how hard it was and what is a good site to gather the parts from and what I shoiuld get.How hard is it to change out the Timing chain on a 99 Dakota 5.2L?
when you change that one go with a complete kit ,and on instructions,you have to tear the front of the engine apart completely to do that one,so you,ll need a repair manual on doing it,it will have the torque specs in it you need plus the pics of the timing marks, when you buy whats know as a timing kit for one of those engines you get everything needed to do the job with except the repair manual,auto zone has the best prices on the timing kits that i have found so far,good luck.How hard is it to change out the Timing chain on a 99 Dakota 5.2L?

About the same as most ohv v-8's. I would upgrade to the timing chain kit with tensioner.How hard is it to change out the Timing chain on a 99 Dakota 5.2L?
Why you want to change your timming chain? You dont chain that unless you broke it%26lt; The dealership told me you only replaced the timming belt but the timming chain should last until the car died! It's not that difficult, but there are other things that you will need that you might not think of, which a repair manual will tell you about.



For example, you'll need a water pump gasket and RTV sealant for that.
