i own a repair shop, and i been at this for a little while,so I'm going to say this could be a lifter on getting weak on it,they will tend to leak down once they get warm, what would have helped a lot if you could have narrowed it down to the top end or bottom end of the engine, because some of those did have a problem with oil pumps going bad in them, and you could actually hear the pump on the out side of the engine and eventually they would loose all there oil pressure, that's been one of the things i have seen a lot with those,i been at this for 36 yrs,so i have repaired a few of those before, good luck with it i hope this helps. My 2000 dodge truck has a rattle in the engine after it warms up?

All dodge dakotas have a rattle with a v6 3.9 liter engine. It is nothing to worry about. Keep your oil changed at every 3000 miles and drive baby drive. The noise is in the timing chain but it won't hurt anything
