A timing chain should last 100k+ as opposed to a timing belt which the other posters are referring to which should be changed around the 60k mark as a general rule.
Check with your local main dealer if this work isn't covered by the Agila timing chain recall which happened a couple of years ago, you might get it done free.
As an aside, I have a 1987 Land Rover with 100k on the engine with its original factory fitte timing belt, fool hardy but I want it to break to give me an excuse to drop in a nice 300tdi.:o)
